On July 23rd, the Trust for Mutual Understanding hosted staff of Lincoln Center, staff of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, and alumni of the O'Neill Moscow Art Theatre Semester at our offices for a reception before the Maly Theatre's production of Life and Fate as part of the 2009 Lincoln Center Festival. The special guest for the evening was Lev Dodin, Artistic Director of the Maly. We were honored to have such distinguished guests join us in celebrating the ongoing partnerships between TMU, Lincoln Center, the O'Neill, and the Maly. These grantee events help us see just how necessary continued, sustained support of the arts is for the fabric of our society and what an important role the arts play in deepening the dialogue across cultures.
