Eligible Expenses

What expenses are eligible for TMU support?

TMU’s grants help defray international travel and related costs for participants in international exchange projects.

Only the following expenses are eligible for support:

  • International airfare (for example, Russians traveling to the United States and/or Americans traveling to Russia)
  • Airport transfers
  • Domestic travel for international visitors (for example, travel within the United States by Russians)
  • Accommodations/lodging for project participants while traveling internationally
  • Per diems for project participants while traveling internationally (there is no set amount for per diems)
  • Visa-related costs
  • Travel insurance
  • General administrative costs of no more than 20% of eligible travel*

*Up to 20% of the eligible expenses (listed above) may be requested from TMU and applied to other costs associated with the project (e.g., translator fees, honoraria, salaries, and production costs)
