New Ohio Theatre’s “Translating for the Theatre”

A fresh ticket discount to the New Ohio production of The Eyes of Others, which starts performing tomorrow evening–this is an excellent cast!

Translating for theTheatre will take place at 5:30pm on Saturday, September 8 followed by a reception, and the 7:30pm performance of The Eyes of Others. Facilitated by Trust for Mutual Understanding Associate Director Barbara Lanciers, the panel will focus on the challenges and joys of moving the play from Bulgarian to English, and preparing the play for New York audiences. The participants will be playwright Ivan Dimitrov, director Samuel Buggeln, translator Angela Rodel (joining in via Skype fromSofia, Bulgaria), and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and professor Elizabeth Frank.
